Ponies Schedule Announced

     The Casselton Parks and Recreation Department's 7 and 8-year-old girls' team, the Ponies, will play four games with Kindred and Mapleton beginning June 22:

Monday, June 22                  Mapleton (A) - 5 PM

Tuesday, June 23                 Kindred (A) - 4 PM (Two 3-inning games)

Friday, June 26                     Mapleton (H) - 5 PM (Diamond I)

Thursday, July 2                   Kindred (H) - 4 PM (Two 3-inning games/Diamond II)

     Ponies players should arrive at the field 20-30 minutes prior to the start of their scheduled games.  With 18 girls on the team this season, the coaches will do their best to rotate players in the field and at the plate.

2009 Squirts Schedule  

• All Squirts practices will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning June 2 and running through July 9.  Practices will run from 11:00 am until noon on Diamond II at Tinta Tawa Park
• Our Squirts will be split into two teams for games and will follow the schedule above.  All Squirts are expected to arrive for their scheduled games 30 minutes prior to game time.
• Practice and game cancellation information will be posted on the park district website.  A message will also be recorded on the answering maching at the parks and rec office.

     Team assignments for Casselton's 2009 Mid-Cass Pee Wee and Rookie league teams are set:

Pee Wee Division

Casselton Rockies - Zack Jones, Kaleb Streit, Andrew Jahnke, Travis Trautman, Tate Camas, Elijah Hofmann, Reese Johnson, Zack Peters, Bryce Giermann, Justin Meehl and Dillon Haines.  Coaches are Brady Madsen (367-7885) and Steve Schultz (388-9134).

Casselton Reds - Michael Ueland, Thomas Dawson, Landon Kensok, Garret Prante, Andrew Roden, Zach Fraase, Brady Stevens, Matthew Nelson, Jack Morris and Max Farquhar.  Coaches are Aaron Bye (799-9748) and Matt Swanson (540-2911).

Casselton Cubs - Cam Radermacher, Carter Wegner, Andrew Heinen, Carson Bultema, Casey Krank, Justin DeKeyser, Jade Allen, Jacob Kressin, Ethan Baril, Carson Rieniets and Tyler Schneider.  Coaches are Nick Voss (212-0276) and Nick Franck (219-4412).

Rookie Division

Casselton Reds - Jacob Holm, Devin Roesler, Christian Schmuck, Carter Kretchman, Adam Breske, Ian Saum, Ben Tronsen, Matthew Dawson, Luke Morris and Nathan Glass.  Coaches are Aaron Bye (799-9748) and Matt Swanson (540-2911).

  Pool, Swim Lesson Schedules Set for Summer '09

     Pool and swim lesson schedules are now available from the Casselton Park District.

     The parks and recreation department will sponsor two sessons of swimming lessons at the new municipal pool this summer.  Lesson schedule dates and times are as follows:

Session I - June 15 - 26                         Session II - July 20 - 31

9 AM - Levels 3 and 5                                                9 AM - Levels 3 and 5

10 AM - Levels 1, 2 and 4                                         10 AM - Levels 1, 2 and 4

11 AM - Levels 1, 2 and 3                                         11 AM - Levels 1, 2 and 3  

     Open swim is scheduled Monday through Friday, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.  Family swim hour will be held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. beginning June 16.

     Daily fees for each swim session are $3.  A family swim pass is $100 for the summer.  Individual passes are $50.  Patrons can also rent the pool for private events for $50 per hour.

     The park board passed an age requirement for the swimming pool that will be strictly enforced.  Beginning this summer, no children under the age of 10 will be admitted to the pool without a parent or a guardian 13 years of age or older.
