Youth Leagues and Activities
Pee Wee and Rookie Baseball | Print |


     Casselton's Pee Wee and Rookie teams are members of the Mid-Cass Baseball League, which also includes Enderlin, Kindred, Mapleton and Davenport.

     Games are played on Tuesdays and Thursdays beginning in late May.  Pee Wee baseball is for players 9 and 10 years old.  Rookies include players 11 and 12 years old.  The season concludes in mid-July with the league tournament in Kindred.

 
Pee Wee Eligibility:  All players must be 9 years old on or before May 1,
2008.  Players cannot turn 11 prior to May 1, 2008 and play Pee Wee baseball.

Rookie Eligibility:  Players cannot turn 13 before May 1, 2008, and be eligible to play Rookie League baseball.

Game and Practice Location:  Tinta Tawa Park Diamonds

Game Days:  Tuesdays and Thursdays

Game and Practice Times:  Pee Wee games are four (4) innings in length and begin at 5:45 PM.  Rookie games are five (5) innings in length and begin at 7 PM.

Equipment:  Gloves, athletic shoes or rubber-spiked baseball shoes.

Uniform shirts and pants provided, as well as all game equipment.

Fee:  $30 (Please note:  Our Pee Wee  and Rookie players will also be wearing team hats this season.  Each player will purchase his own hat at a cost of $8)

 
Squirts Baseball | Print |

Squirts baseball takes the game to the next level for our 7-and 8-year-old
boys players.  Our youth coaches focus on more advanced fundamentals and
skills.  This group does not play a regular game schedule; intersquad games
are organized and players begin learning the rules of baseball.  All players
must be 7 years old on or before May 1, 2008, in order to participate.

 
Dates:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 29 through July 10.

Time:  10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Location:  Tinta Tawa Park Diamond II

Equipment:  Players need their own gloves.  All other equipment will be provided.

Fee:  $20 (Includes T-shirt)
 
T-Ball Baseball | Print |

 

     T-Ball introduces the game of baseball and its fundamentals to our 5-and 6-year-old boys and girls players.  Practices are directed by a group of youth coaches and focus on the basic skills of the game, including catching, throwing, hitting and baserunning.  Children must be 5 years old on or before May 1, 2008 in order to participate in this activity.

Dates:  Tuesdays and Thursdays, May 29 through July 10.

Time:  9:00 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.

Location:  Tinta Tawa Park Diamond III

Equipment:  Players need to bring their own gloves.  Balls, bats, hitting tees and bases will be provided.

Fee:  $20 per player (Includes T-shirt)

 

 
Youth Art 6-12 | Print |

     Mary Kensok returns for another exciting summer of youth art classes!  Students ages 6-12 will engage in multi-media vsual art experiences that promote creative thought, aesthetic awareness and problem-solving skills

     A variety of elements of art, basic techniques and the fundamentals of design will be explored in nine 2-hour sessions of drawing, painting, sculpture and printmaking.

Program Dates:  June 10-20

Location:  Casselton City Hall Auditorium

8:00 - 10:00 AM Session:  8-12-year-olds

10:00 AM to Noon:  6 & 7 -year-olds

Fee:  $40
